Collect in Log Sale: Pay While You Ring Up

You're ringing up a sale at the counter. The customer wants to pay with M-Pesa. Instead of logging the sale and then separately collecting payment, Keel lets you do both in one step — the cart total becomes the payment amount automatically.

How It Works

Open Log Sale, add products to the cart, and when you're ready, tap the Collect button beside the payment method. Keel opens the Collect screen with the cart total already filled in. Enter the customer's phone number and the M-Pesa prompt goes out.

No Double-Entry

The old way: log the sale with one payment method, then separately collect M-Pesa. Two steps, two chances to make a mistake. The new way: add products, tap Collect, enter the number, done. The sale is logged and the payment is recorded in one atomic action.

Stock Updates Instantly

When the payment lands, stock is deducted, the sale is recorded as M-Pesa, and the receipt is ready. No gap between logging and collecting — the inventory stays accurate in real time.

Works with Credit Too

If the customer is buying on credit, skip the Collect button and use the Credit tab instead. Search for the customer, set a promise date, and log the sale. The balance is added to their profile. Both paths — cash and credit — work from the same cart.
