Getting paid on invoices

Record payments you receive, and let customers pay invoices online with M-Pesa or card.

Recording a payment you receive

Recording payments is a Pro feature. A payment also counts as revenue — it shows in your dashboard, Finance, and Reports automatically.

  1. 1Open the invoice in Invoices.
  2. 2Click Record payment.
  3. 3Enter the amount (it can't exceed the balance due) and the payment method — Cash, M-Pesa, Bank, and more.
  4. 4Add the M-Pesa code if the customer paid by M-Pesa.
  5. 5Save — the balance updates, and when it reaches zero the invoice is marked Paid.

Customers paying online

When an invoice is sent, the customer can open its share link and pay the balance online with M-Pesa or card — no account needed. The invoice flips to Paid as soon as the payment is confirmed, and you get an email letting you know money has arrived.

Online payments are a Pro feature. The customer enters their email at checkout, which is saved to their profile for the paid-invoice receipt. Partial payments work too — each payment records the portion received and the balance stays open until settled.

Tracking what's owed

The Invoices page shows your outstanding balance, what's overdue, what you've invoiced and collected this month, and how many invoices are still unpaid. Use the tabs to filter by Draft, Sent, Overdue, and Paid — and focus on what needs chasing.
